Gary Korman was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After graduating from Northern Michigan University with degrees in Biology and Educational Administration, he and his family moved to southwestern Michigan. They now reside in Fennville, where Gary maintains a carving workshop.

Gary is self-taught, obtaining his inspiration from the multitude of wildlife in the area. Each of Gary's carvings are rendered with precision, from high quality tupelo from Alabama. Each carving is painted with many "watery" coats of Jo Sonja acrylic paints.
